Amoros Family Visit
Only 1.5 hrs away from Havana, visit the small town of Madruga where few tourists venture. We will visit the Amoros family, tour the town, have a home cooked lunch, and enjoy conversation with our host Ramon Amoros. Madruga is known for its large sugar factory and decima music, a competitive song style with origins in Spain and Europe. There are great hikes possible in the countryside and as well as spending time getting to know the locals in the town square.

Rancho José (optional activity)
José is an animal trainer for the Nacional Circus of Cuba and has a small rancho near Madruga. His rancho is like a mini zoo with a unique collection of animals including exotic birds, horses, reptiles, goats, and small indigenous mammals. Jose offers a delicious country lunch and will also demonstrate his animal training skills with a performance with one of his prize horses.
